WWE champion Drew McIntyre plans to meet Randy Orton tonight (January 11). Just as WWE announced a few minutes ago that McIntyre had tested positive for COVID-19 and was “in quarantine”, this will not happen.
As shocking as the news itself is the company’s decision to publicly disclose the news. Although there are several reports of the outbreak behind the scenes in 2020, WWE has always worked or provided other explanations for people who have been turned away by the coronavirus. For whatever reason, they changed the course of one of their biggest stars in 2021
In addition to the untitled match with Orton announced last Friday, there was also a Royal Rumble match with Goldberg Royal Rumble January 31. McIntyre may be restored to health and clean up at the end of this month, but WWE may wish to develop a backup plan just in case.
We will find out tonight. Please join us and wish McIntyre a speedy recovery.
