The Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series on Tuesday night, thereby expelling some champion demons. In defeating the light of Tampa Bay, the Dodgers broke the 32-year World Series drought.

Although the time between championships in 32 years is certainly long, it is actually not close to the drought of some of the top major league champions. There are 11 different teams that have not won the world championship for 30 or more years-including some that have never won a championship.

The track and field team has won nine world championships in the history of its franchise. But after the team moved out of Philadelphia in 1954, only four of them won.
