As we all know, as we all know, Microsoft has consistently promised support for Windows 1
Similar to the April Update, the next big Windows 10 Update – Codenamed Redstone 5 – is expected to come with some new features and updates for the operating system. Microsoft released Windows 10 Redstone 5 (Build 17666) on May 9 for members of the Windows Insider Early Access program.
One important innovation was a redesigned set of sets that allowed users to group multiple apps in a single window using a tabbed interface. In Redstone 5, users may choose to open apps and websites in a new window or tab. When a web page in the Grouping group plays audio, a volume icon is automatically displayed so that users can mute the sound.
Another important update with the Redstone 5 is the clipboard, which other devices can access. "Not only can you paste the clipboard history, you can also pin the articles you find yourself," the company said. The improved feature would allow users to access the last clipboard content from the cache history.
In addition, users can pin the items that they believe might be needed later. "Today, we're addressing this and taking the clipboard to the next level – just press WIN + V and you'll get our brand new clipboard experience!" The company said in a blog post announcing Build 17666. Currently the clipboard history supports HTML, plain text and images under 1 MB. In addition, the supported streamed text in the clipboard is less than 100 KB. Regardless, the build allows insiders to select a dark design for File Explorer, the Shared File dialog box, and the File Explorer shortcut menu.
Microsoft's new App Your Phone is another highly anticipated feature of the next update. The app makes it easy to share files over the phone. For example, users can easily drag and drop files between devices. So far it is not clear if the new app will support both iOS and Android.
In addition, the Redstone 5 is to integrate better Progressive Web Apps, which are nothing more than web pages that work like an app. Better integration would mean notification, offline usage and more. To make the experience even better, the update must also improve the user interface and give users the ability to download web applications directly from the edge browser.
Microsoft has been working to improve the design in Windows 10, as more and more apps adopt the design of Fluent Design, making the user interface easier. Watch out for visually stunning 3D effects for mixed-reality experiences.
The improved search preview is another useful feature of the Redstone 5. The new feature makes it easier to find apps, documents, and other files. Search Previews allow users to return to previous tasks in Documents or Remote Desktop sessions. In addition, it will allow users to get more information and get fast answers from the Internet.
When we talk about when we can expect the public launch of Windows 10 Redstone 5, there is still no definitive date from Microsoft. However, it can be expected sometime this year, such as in September or October. A release in September or October would also comply with Microsoft's update plan and allow for another Redstone update in March or April.
Based on the version made available to members of the Insiders program, the Redstone 5 appears to be on the right track later this year. However, the company had some problems publishing the April 2018 update on time, so a slight delay in the upcoming update should not come as a surprise.
There is also no information about the name of the next major Windows 10 update. Earlier major Redstone updates from the company were referred to as Anniversary Update, Creators Update, and Fall Creators Update. Although it was expected that the Redstone 4 would be called "Spring Creators Update", Microsoft finally called it April 2018 Update. On this basis, the Windows 10 Redstone 5 update could be referred to as the October 2018 update or something similar.
