Here are the three best new features in the Windows 10 October 2010 update (also known as the 20H2 version) and how to use them.
1. The Microsoft Edge browser brings privacy improvements
Windows 10 version 20H2 is the first version with an improved Microsoft Edge browser installed by default. The browser is now built on Chromium, which is Google’s open source foundation for the Chrome browser and is compatible with more websites than the old version.
There are other benefits. The new Edge browser includes a privacy feature that attempts to prevent online tracking of your website-similar to Mozilla’s Firefox browser. In addition, a feature called “Favorites” allows you to more easily collect information from different websites when conducting research.
How to use the new Edge browser privacy settings: You will use the new Edge browser in much the same way as any other browser. Navigate to the logo on the taskbar, or find the logo from the Start menu-it appears as a circular crash wave in blue, green, and light green, similar to the old Internet Explorer blue “e” icon.
To set up your privacy features, go to Settings>Privacy and Services. You will see three options to prevent tracking: basic (allow most trackers), balanced (block trackers that do not visit sites-Microsoft recommends this option), and strict (block most trackers on all sites).
To view your privacy settings instantly, when using a browser, click the lock icon on the left side of the search bar. A box will appear to inform you whether the connection is secure, with options to check the site certificate, cookies in use, and site permissions. You can also turn “Tracking Block” on or off, and manage the settings of all sites you visit. If you set it to on, you will see the number of trackers blocked by your browser.
How to use the “Favorites” function of Edge browser: After navigating to the page you want to save, click on what looks like “+“Box, located on the right side of the search bar. This will open the “Favorites” panel on the right side of the screen. Click Start new collectionAnd rename it to any name you want. You can click Add current page Save the web page you are on. You can also click on the image on the page and drag it to the collection, you can also select and drag text, and you can add your own notes. To export the collection to Word or Excel, click the three dots Share more Icons on the top of the collection.
2. Customize the new “Start” menu
The classic Windows start menu is refreshed in the October 2020 update. The new version has a more simplified design and replaces the solid color back panel behind the logo in the application list with a partially transparent background, so the icon is more prominent. The color will also change depending on whether you are running light or dark mode.
How to customize the new “Start” menu: If you want to add accent colors to make the tiles match your desktop theme, you can go to Settings>Personalization>Color And enable accent color on “Start”, taskbar and action center.

3. Open all tabs at once
With this update, you will be able to open all tabs in Edge with a simple command, not just open the active tab in every browser window. This way, you can more easily get a complete view of every window you open, not just one window. You can also configure it to show only the last three or five tabs, or turn it off completely. However, at least for now, it only works with the Edge browser.
How to customize labels: To open all tabs in Edge at once, press Alt + Tab.To configure label settings or turn off features, go to Settings>System>Multitasking. You will see a drop-down menu with options for actions that Alt + Tab can perform.
