The day has finally arrived: PS5 is now available, marking the beginning of a new generation of games for PlayStation fans. The retail prices of PS5 and PS5 Digital are US$500 and US$400, respectively. Since the first pre-order in September, it has been almost impossible to find inventory. With the launch day approaching, fans who are still looking to ensure the safety of the next generation of consoles may be hopeful that they will finally be able to buy the PS5 today. If you want to buy a PS5 at launch, this is what you should know.
PS5 orders are only online today
Sony has confirmed that due to COVID-1
It is possible for any major retailer to have PS5 inventory online at the time of launch, but time and availability will of course vary greatly. If you want yourself to have a chance to truly seize one of these consoles, then you will need to be at your computer most of the day and have your payment information. Every time PS5 appears online, it will disappear within a few minutes (sometimes just a few seconds). Buying PS5 online on the launch day will involve a lot of refreshes and a lot of luck.
Which retailers will use PS5 today?
Walmart It was the only retailer that shared the actual replenishment time of the PS5 today-so the influx of traffic caused the site to collapse earlier. The first two replenishments at 12 noon and 3 pm Eastern time came in and out, and the inventory was sold out within a few seconds. For the next two replenishments at 6 pm and 9 pm Eastern time, this is not a good sign, but it is worth trying. As usual, the inventory will be very limited, so you want to be ready to use the computer at that time. We also recommend creating a Walmart account and ensuring that the account is kept up to date with your shipping address and payment information to help check out faster.
Walmart PS5 release time today
9 AM EST / 12 PM EST12 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. ET- 3 p.m. Pacific time / 6 p.m. Eastern time
- 6 p.m. Pacific time / 9 p.m. Eastern time
Around midnight US Eastern Time last night, other stores restocked online, including Newegg, GameStop, Target and Sam’s Club. It is not clear whether any of these stores will have more inventory today, but based on the release of Xbox Series X, the best choice today is Wal-Mart. There may also be limited inventory in GameStop stores today-please call your local store for availability.
PlayStation Direct There is a queue on the site, but starting at 12:17 PM PT, the PS5 console is sold out on the site. A message will be displayed, “Please check the availability on 11/13”, so you may have another opportunity to buy PS5 tomorrow.
Best Buy It has been confirmed that the PS5 will not be sold in stores throughout the holiday period, so you will not see the PS5 in Best Buy’s physical stores until 2021. The retailer will not confirm that the PS5 will be sold online on the day of launch. The PS5 plan will be blurred and said that once the store has available products, the PS5 will be restocked online.
Game stop It is confirmed that it will offer PS5 on Black Friday (November 27) when the store opens at 7 AM. All stores will have at least two PS5 consoles, so if you miss the opportunity to buy a PS5 at launch, then you will have another opportunity, despite the very limited inventory. We recommend calling your local store for availability. Wal-Mart will also purchase PS5 online during Black Friday, and we expect other stores will also restock by then.
AmazonIt is a wildcard as usual. The company rarely reveals when it plans to resell popular items such as game consoles, and so far, there is no conclusion on when the PS5 will be restocked.
Of course, you can always find PS5 and its accessories on the resale site Stock X with EBay, But you can bet that the price of the console is hundreds of dollars higher than the suggested retail price. For context, the resale price of StockX is currently between $800 and $900, although you can bid for consoles at a lower price. However, if you are desperate, that is always an option, and the site has a large inventory.
We will continue to update this story as we track the availability of the PS5 launch day, but for now you can check the list of major retailers below. Also, see our PS5 review for more details and our thoughts on the new console.
