There is a new word in a nearby dictionary: kratom (pronounced cray-tum.) It is increasingly appearing on shop signs and windows, usually next to the letters CBD. Take the CBD Kratom as an example. The store will open in the former West 70th Street and Broadway of Paris Baguette. The slogan also says “Cannabis dispensaries are coming soon.”
As one commentator said, when we first announced the opening, was the community “going to buy something”? What does CBD Kratom plan to allocate and how long will it take to deliver? According to several sources, recreational marijuana is currently legal in New York State, but it will not be possible to sell to the public for at least a year. Is the store ready for the future?
In fact, CBD Kratom is part of an already thriving chain of 36 stores, distributed in five major cities in the United States, and owned by a couple named Dafna Revah, 28, and David Palatnik, 30. Their headquarter is in St. Louis, Missouri, and the company name is MNG (Mr. Nice). They were established in 2016.
WSR spoke with Dafna when Dafna and David opened a new Chelsea location in town this week. She expects the UWS store to open in “two to three months.” It will provide CBD and Kratom products. These are the two that we have learned.
There are more than 600 products on the CBD side of the store. Until now, it is well known that CBD may come from the same plant as hemp, but not hemp. Proponents say that it can relieve a variety of physical diseases and needs-especially pain, inflammation and insomnia-but it will not change consciousness. This is the clever cousin of marijuana. Dafner explained that both may come from the cannabis plant, but the CBD does not include the effects of cannabis: “Delta 9 THC” is the spiritual component of the plant and (until last month) the illegal component.
Dafner said: “We are a cannabis dispensary because we ship all cannabis products except Delta 9 THC.” She added: “We do carry Delta 8 THC, and its mental function is similar to Delta 9.” popular.”
Kratom is not derived from hemp. It comes from the leaves of an evergreen tree (Spodoptera litura), it grows in Southeast Asia and is related to coffee factories. Dafner said this may be why one of its so-called benefits is to increase energy. “Kratom is a natural supplement. Now, they only use pure Kratom (dry leaves). Depending on the fineness of the grinding, it is mainly used as tea or smoothies with powder consistency and other foods. Some people like capsules because of it There is a bitter taste.
She continued: “We belong to the CBD Kratom part of our business.” David used to own a more traditional head office. “Because of what we have seen, we have stayed in it; we truly believe it. We have heard endless stories; customers have been coming back and saying, “This is the only thing I found that works for me.” Millions of People use Kratom for pain management. This is the number one reason.” Dafner said. “It can really help people ease their pain and live their lives. This is really something you almost have to see or hear to believe.”
Kratom is not without controversy. This is legal but not regulated. Google it and you will find entries like “Invalid and unsafe-Mayo Clinic”; “FDA cracks down on Kratom products-WebMD”; and “FDA’s kratom warning”. If you read these items, you will find that it is addictive (claiming that it can be used to treat opioid addiction). You will also find a long list of potentially undesirable side effects.
According to the National Center for Complementary and Comprehensive Health of the National Institutes of Health, “most importantly,” there has not been any clinical trial (study on the human body) to evaluate the health effects of kratom. “
“I want to say that we totally disagree with their claims,” Dafner replied. “Also, if someone studies them in depth, unfortunately, this is actually groundless.”
Dafna is happy to open in the Upper West Side. She went to Columbia University and lived for a while on its northern edge. She was also happy for another reason. She explained: “Our online store already has a good customer base here.” “One of the main reasons we want to open in the Upper West Side is to better serve our existing customers and win new customers.”
