Technology companies like Google have invested their technology in the automotive field for many years, but a new collaboration marks the first time that drivers will be able to drive a real Google-branded car.
Fiat recently launched a new special-edition Fiat 500 “Hey Google” series of cars. This series of products has Google Assistant technology that allows car owners to communicate with their cars remotely, and has Google logos and design features inside and outside the car.
The Italian automaker, owned by Stellattis, announced its partnership with Google on Wednesday and praised its three new special-edition Fiat 500 cars in a press release-Fiat 500, 500X crossover and 500L utility vehicle-“with Google technology Meet the coolness.”
The three cars range in size from the two-door ultra-compact Fiat 500 to the four-door crossover SUV 500X, and they all have a lot of Google technology.
They have a 7-inch touch screen on the dashboard of the car with Google Assistant. Allows users to connect to the dashboard of the car through the Google digital assistant on a smartphone or Google Nest Hub.
Fiat and Google say that drivers of new cars can even interact with their vehicles remotely.
“No matter where you are, or even sitting on the sofa at home, just say the word “Hey Google, ask my Fiat…” to know, for example, where the car is parked; how much fuel is available; the nearest Where is it? Authorized workshop; how many [miles] We have reported this day. “Fiat said in a press release.
The company added that drivers can even ask Google Assistant if their car remembers to close the door or trunk.
In addition to technology, the Fiat 500 “Hey Google” cars are on both sides of the car body, and the front side mirrors are equipped with a small round “Hey Google” logo and other elements decorated in the color of the Google logo.
These cars are also equipped with a “welcome kit”, which includes a handbag packaged by the Google Hey brand, a key case and a Google Nest Hub.
The two companies also added that the new special edition Hey Google Fiat 500s will soon be launched in 10 European countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland.
Google and Fiat did not announce the price of the new car. A Fiat spokesperson did not immediately respond to Make It’s comments, asking whether it will sell the cars in the United States.
Google has previously worked with car companies such as Ford and General Motors to install the technology company’s Android Auto software into the car so that the driver can connect to the car’s infotainment display, and even use voice commands to control the car’s music, navigation or Other interior accessories.
Apple (reportedly building its own car) has made a similar in-vehicle software platform called Apple CarPlay, and Amazon also offers Alexa Auto.
