According to coach Ty Lue, Rajon Rondo is expected to make his debut with the Los Angeles Clippers in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Clippers acquired Atlanta’s Rondo from Lauter Williams before the trade deadline on March 25.
Neither team has key players. Due to injuries, the Lakers did not have LeBron James and Anthony Davis. And Lue believes that point guard Patrick Beverley (knee) cannot return and join Rondo. Beverley missed the past 11 games due to injury. Starting center Serge Ibaka has also missed the game due to a back injury in the past 10 games.
Rondo won the Lakers championship last season and will now play in Los Angeles with the Clippers.
Suffering from the injury of adductor muscles, Rondo has been working hard to learn the Clippers script while resting.
Lu said: “Just plug him in, just see what he picked up.” He hoped he could see it from Rondo. “It’s easy to play in practice, but then you can play, which is a bit different. And I know how smart he is. Just look at his selection and see what we can integrate into the game during his tenure. In and try to start from there. It’s nice to see him on the court.”
