Verizon's new carrier offers unlimited conversations, text and data for $ 40 per month

Under the radar, Verizon created a vehicle called Visible earlier this year. The service costs $ 40 per month for unlimited voice, text and data in the United States via Verizon's 4G LTE network. To sign up, you will need an invitation to attend by a current subscriber to the Visible Early Access Program. If you have received an invitation, download the app from the App Store (Visible is iOS only at this point), fill out the required personal information including the invitation code, and Verizon will send you a SIM card the next day. Insert the card into your phone and activate the service.

The data speed is 5 Mbps and most videos are displayed in 480p resolution (DVD quality). There is no limit to data usage that triggers throttling, and there is no signing contract. Payments can be made with PayPal and Venmo. Currently Visible is only compatible with unlocked iPhone models.

It seems strange in a way that Verizon launches a new carrier that undercuts its price. But Big Red lost 24,000 postpaid phone subscribers in the first quarter, and although we do not know where these former Verizon subscribers hung their hats (or should we call), Visible is an attempt to keep those subscribers under the Verizon umbrella
