A US diplomat allegedly involved in a motor vehicle accident that killed a motorcyclist has left Pakistan, a US state spokesman said on Monday, two days after the diplomat reported was prevented from leaving the South Asian country.
"We can confirm that the American diplomat involved in a tragic car accident in Islamabad on April 7 has left Pakistan," the spokesperson said in an e-mail to Reuters.

Pakistani newspapers reported that the American, identified as a military attache, was blocked on Saturday after leaving Pakistan, forcing US military aircraft to travel without him ,
On Friday, an Islamabad court ruled that the American's diplomatic immunity may not apply in road traffic in which his vehicle allegedly hits a motorcycle killing 22-year-old driver according to the Nation and Express Tribune newspapers.
