Supporters of President Donald Trump clashed with counter-protesters in San Diego on Saturday, prompting the police to declare that the rally was illegal due to violence
The police said that they were hit by stones, bottles and eggs, and the crowd sprayed pepper spray on them.
KSWB-TV posted a video of anti-demonstrators on Twitter, most of them wearing black clothes, waving anti-French flags, throwing folding chairs, and spraying chemicals on a small group of people participating in the Pacific Beach Boardwalk Parade Irritant.
The station said that in other cases, members of the two groups pushed each other and threw things.
The police sent dozens of riot police to separate the two men. The police asked residents to stay away from the area and warned that those who refused to disperse could be extradited or arrested.
