A woman in Dallas was sentenced to five years in prison for the death of a nightclub dancer after an illegal cosmetic butt injection was given to her in Missouri.
According to the St. Louis Post, 49-year-old Nicica Deonte Lee was sentenced on Thursday for unintentional homicide when Daysha Phillips passed away in 2015.
Prosecutors said Lee went from her home in Dallas to a hotel in Edmondson, a suburb near the main St. Louis airport, where she was injected with liquid silicone. Phillips was 22 years old and died four days after silicone entered her bloodstream and was trapped in her lungs.
The other three accompany Phillips. The police said at the time that one of them retreated and the other two who received the injection did not appear to have been affected in any way.
A few months after Phillips passed away, Lee, who had been imprisoned for robbery, theft and theft, was prosecuted. But she had fled for five years before being arrested by Dallas police in July. The prosecutor said that she stayed in Mexico for a while.
