The smaller iPhone 13 notch is in the dummy unit

Japan Supply Chain Blog Macatakara It shared images and videos that it claims to be the virtual unit model of the iPhone 13 Pro. This prototype can better understand the rumored redesign of the groove and the design changes to the front selfie camera.

This iPhone 13 Pro virtual device is likely to be created based on a schematic diagram leaked from a supply chain source. Before Apple officially announces the launch of the new iPhone, such information will be regularly shared among accessory manufacturers.

According to the report, the notch height of the iPhone 1

3 Pro is 5.35 mm, while the notch of the iPhone 12 Pro is 5.3 mm. In terms of width, it is reported that the iPhone 13 Pro has a notch of 26.8 mm, while the iPhone 12 Pro has a notch of 34.83 mm. This means that the notch width of the iPhone 13 Pro may be smaller, but it will be higher.

This may be because of how Apple moved the earpiece speaker to the top bezel of the iPhone 13, thereby pushing all the components down slightly. This design change was originally released for the iPhone 12 lineup last year, but it did not materialize in the end. Instead, the iPhone 12 has the same notch design as the iPhone X, iPhone XS and iPhone 11.

Virtual unit obtained by Macatakara It also shows that Apple is considering repositioning the front camera from the right side of the iPhone notch to the left side. There is no clear explanation for this change, but it may be related to the internal layout of the notch sensor.

Apart from the smaller notch and the relocated front camera, there is not much else to collect from this virtual unit. It is expected that the iPhone 13 will be very similar in design to the iPhone 12, and other changes will be made under the hood, such as improved display and the possibility of Touch ID.
