Lions club general manager Bob Quinn (Bob Quinn) used to work for the Patriots, and he colluded with his former employer to conduct Sunday trades.
The Lions announced on Sunday morning that they would cut cornerback Michael Jackson, but Quinn was able to walk backwards and trade with the Patriots. The Lions will receive an undisclosed draft pick in 2022 in exchange for Jackson.
Jackson was the fifth round rookie of the Cowboys last season, but failed to get the team out of the camp. He returned to the Dallas practice team, but later this season signed the Lions active lineup and appeared in a game with the team.
Stephon Gilmore, Jason McCourty, Jonathan Jones, JC Jackson, Joejuan Williams and Justin Bethel are also in the corner of New England.
