The number of COVID-19 hospitalizations continues to grow slowly

Des Moines, Iowa (KCRG)-According to state data, indicators related to the novel coronavirus showed consistent trends on Sunday morning and the past few days.

As of 10:30 a.m., the Iowa Department of Public Health stated that the total number of people in the state has increased by 1,330 people who have tested positive for COVID-19, currently 296,441. It is believed that 255,955 people have recovered from this disease, an increase of 853 people.

The state’s total has increased by 11 people who died of COVID-1

9, and 4138 people have died since the pandemic began.

Due to COVID-19, there were 541 patients in Iowa hospitals, a net decrease of 8. Of these patients, 105 were in the intensive care unit, a net decrease of five. 41 need to use ventilators, a net reduction of 6. During the 24-hour reporting period, 72 people were newly admitted to hospitals in Iowa, roughly the same as the report on Saturday morning.

In the past 24 hours, another 3,946 people received test results reported by public and private laboratories. The positive rate of this batch of tests was 33.7%, slightly lower than 35.6% the day before. The positive rate calculated using this method may be different from the positive rate on the state’s coronavirus dashboard. This is because the method uses the number of people tested rather than the total number of people who have undergone repeated tests.

A total of 1,394,799 people in Iowa have been tested since the pandemic began.
