Police said that in an apparently murderous suicide in Brooklyn on Monday, a 9-year-old girl called 911. Her father shot and killed three people, including her mother.
According to the New York City Police Department, the officer responded to the phone call in an apartment building in the 360 block of Sartre Avenue at 11:30 in the evening. The police found two people in the hallway and another in the living room. The department said that everyone was pronounced dead at the scene.
The names of the victims have not been announced, but the authorities said one of them was a teenage girl. The other two victims were women aged 20 and 45.
Police said officers found the 46-year-old gunman’s body in a walkway near the apartment with a gunshot wound to the head. Authorities said that two guns were found near his body.
Police said the girl was not injured in the shooting.
The officials did not provide details of the motives.
The incident occurred less than twelve hours after police in the suburbs of Dallas discovered that six family members had died in an apparent murder suicide. Allen police said the two brothers signed a suicide agreement that included the death of other relatives.
