The national anthem outlines the goal to obtain better loot

As promised, BioWare began releasing updates when it reconsidered its less popular online sci-fi shooter “Anthem.” Today’s update specifically discusses their goals for the loot system, and they hope that their goals are more reliable and respect players’ time. Nothing sounds set in stone yet, so for Anthem, this is undoubtedly a long journey, as they previously estimated.

“A good player experience depends on the scalability and robustness of the loot system, and many things can go wrong. Many Done Something went wrong,”

; said studio director Christian Dailey. “We couldn’t meet the requirements here, and we realized that we would need to build something new from scratch. “

Most of today’s updates focus on a bunch of advanced concepts of the loot system, rather than details. Broadly speaking, BioWare hopes to increase the frequency of loot drops while also making the experience of discovering it more exciting. It includes a quick video clip of a defeated enemy, in which several shiny objects of different colors are sprayed out. They also hope that gear can be played often. They said: “There are no more useless items because they lack essential inscriptions,” and they cited success or failure statistics such as “Weapon damage increased by + 225%.”

As they mentioned, when they planned to release an update on rework, BioWare cautioned that even today they are sharing work in progress, and “they will continue to test and experiment in the next few months.”

You can read about the remaining goals in BioWare’s blog post.
