A family from Callahan was killed early Monday morning in Orangeburg, SC when their vehicle hit an alligator in the middle of Interstate 95, the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Amber Stanley, 24; her 4-year-old son Jack and her 2-year-old daughter Autumn, all of Callahan; died of her injuries due to the vehicle fire, said WYFF.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers said the crash occurred at 1

2:49 pm on Monday in the northern lane of I-95, when the 2011 Kia Soul hit the alligator on the road.

Troopers said after the wagon hit the Gator, it ran from the left side of the road to a tree and caught fire.
