The unidentified Los Angeles aviator was finally captured on video-with a jetpack flying 3,000 feet above Palos Verdes near Catalina Island.
The mysterious aeronaut has been spotted at least twice in summer and fall, but now a video is posted to the Instagram account of the local aviation school Sling Pilot Academy.
The videotape, which the school said Monday was recorded by one of its flight instructors, appears to show a lone person sailing in the sky above the water on the California coast.

Local police, the FBI and FAA announced their investigation in early September after they spotted a suspicious jetpack passenger 3,000 feet near Los Angeles International Airport in August. Two separate crew members reported the sighting, but there was no video at the time.
Another crew member reported a sighting in mid-October, this time at 6,000 feet.
