Lujan Grisham said that 577 new coronavirus cases were reported across the state on Saturday, totaling 36,343 cases.
According to the governor’s tweet on Friday, this is a record-breaking three days of new Covid-19 cases in the state this week.
She said another death was reported on Saturday, with 929 deaths across the state.
Lujan Grisham said in another tweet: “Every New Mexican can and must do what he can to stop COVID by staying at home, restricting interaction with others and wearing a mask. -19 spread.
Due to the increase in cases, the governor has tightened the state’s restrictions earlier this week. The new regulations start on Friday and include bars and restaurants that must be closed before 10 pm local time, and mass gatherings limited to five people.
