Trekek’s last performance featured his greatest “Jeopardy! In 36 years, I turned to enjoy the song “Before I Go” from the 2003 Broadway musical “The Wizard of Oz”.

“It’s been a long time,” Trebek told the audience before he was found walking away.

Trebek announced in 2019 that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and continued to update his fans while receiving treatment. He vowed to continue to host and complete the work he loves for as long as possible.

Since 1984, the Canadian-born TV star has hosted this popular game show, hosting more than 8,000 episodes.

Trebek is survived by his 30-year-old wife Jean and children Matthew, Emily and Nicky.

In order to replace Trebek, several names have emerged, including the All-Star “Jeopardy!”. Player Ken Jennings. Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Times reported that Katie Couric will fill in as one of several potential guest hosts until a permanent replacement is announced.
