Junecloud announced this week that its popular package tracking application Deliveries will switch to a paid subscription model on September 30. The subscription will unlock all features of the app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, and the pricing will be set at 99 cents per month or $4.99 per year through the App Store.

So far, the delivery is a one-time purchase, and the price of the app for both iOS and macOS is $4.99. Junecloud said that users who have purchased the application can continue to use most features without a subscription, and they will also receive a free subscription for up to 18 months from the date of purchase. Users who purchased the app more than 18 months ago will get a free subscription before February 1, 2021.

Specifically, existing users will still be able to add new deliveries to the app and synchronize with iCloud. However, a subscription is now required to sync with Junecloud, which allows users to add delivery to the app by forwarding the corresponding email. Any new features added to “Delivery” in the future will also require a subscription.

Junecloud hopes that the shift to a subscription model will attract more customers:

We have many great customers, but most of them have never tried delivery. We know that a large part of this has always been upfront costs: the current price of the iOS app is US$4.99, and the current price of the Mac app is US$4.99. Delivery makes it easy to track packages from UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS, Canada Post and many other courier companies, with push notifications, etc. The app can also be used to track orders from companies such as Apple and Amazon.

Switching to the paid subscription model will occur at the same time as the release of “Deliveries” in version 9.0. This is a major update with many new features, including “dark mode” support on iOS, extended tracking history, and faster shipping methods. and many more.
