CES 2021 will be conducted digitally this year, but it is not as exciting as in the past few years, because many suppliers have opted out. Having said that, some companies are still showing off some interesting Apple-related accessories, which will be available this year, and Mac, iPad and iPhone users will be interested.
Wireless CarPlay gradually became popular, and Pioneer introduced its new DMH-WC5700NEX receiver, which supports both wired and wireless “CarPlay”. The updated receiver has a 6.8-inch touch screen and a hidden control unit for flexible installation. It will be available this summer, the price has not yet been specified.
LG showed off a new UltraFine Display OLED Pro, which has a 31.5-inch display, more than 8 million pixels and HDR single pixel dimming function. It is LG’s first OLED display, and like other UltraFine displays, it will be compatible with Apple’s Mac. LG also showed off a new 39.7-inch 5K2K UltraWide display. The price and time to market have not yet been announced.
Satechi’s Dock5 is a simple charging station that can hold up to five devices at a time, with two 20W USB-C ports, two 12W USB-A ports, and a Qi charger that supports 10W power. It costs $60 and can be purchased from the Satechi website.
StudioDock is an iPad Pro docking station that includes built-in iPhone and AirPods wireless charging, as well as an optional Apple Watch charger that can charge multiple Apple devices at once. It has three USB-A ports, one USB-C port, one HDMI 2.0 port, one 3.5 mm headphone jack, one SD card reader and one Gigabit Ethernet port. Kensington has not yet shared prices or release dates.
Dell demonstrated the UltraSharp 40 curved WUHD monitor, which has a 40-inch curved display with a resolution of 5120×2160. It has a 21:9 aspect ratio and built-in Thunderbolt 3 connection function, so it can be used with Apple’s Mac. UltraSharp 40 will be available on January 28, starting at $2,100.
JBL introduced the JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam soundbar with AirPlay 2 for the first time, which is very suitable for Apple users. With AirPlay 2 support, you can wirelessly transfer sound from iPhone, iPad and Mac to the soundbar. JBL will release the soundbar in the spring of 2021 at a price of US$400.
Belkin first introduced another MagSafe charging option, the Boost Charge Pro 2-in-1 wireless charger stand with MagSafe, which can be used with Apple’s iPhone 12 series. It can charge iPhone 12 and other devices through its wireless charging base, and its price is higher than the price of the 3-in-1 version, at $99.95. It will be available in March or April.
Belkin’s Soundform branded wireless Freedom True Wireless earbuds are the first third-party earbuds to provide integration with the Find My app. These headphones can be tracked next to Apple devices, in addition, they can provide eight hours of play time, eliminate environmental noise and Qi-based wireless charging. The price is unknown, but Belkin plans to release earplugs in March or April.
