Google Pixel Slate

Sarah Tew/CNET

The Google Pixel Slate tries to match the iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro by fusing the tablet and Chromebook into a single device (a tablet if possible). Although it is not a full-featured Android tablet (and certainly not a cheap Android tablet), you do have access to Android apps in the Google Play store and have powerful features to use them. It comes with a stylus pen and has a 48Wh battery for up to 12 hours of battery life, front and rear cameras and a touch screen LCD display. It also has a complete desktop browser and supports Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. It can even be used as a gaming tablet. Pixel Slate can also choose to use Google Assistant. Overall, this is just an excellent tablet.

Amazon has come a long way from the first Kindle Fire tablet. Amazon Fire HD 10 is Amazon’s largest tablet, with a 10-inch screen size and powerful speakers. Like its smaller 8-inch sibling Fire HD 8, the tablet also provides Prime users with a lot of convenience, allowing members to easily stream and download movies, TV shows and games. The Fire tablet does not use a pure Android version, but uses Amazon’s Android-based Fire operating system and pulls applications from the Amazon App Store. You can still get apps from Google Play, but you have to install the store yourself-this means that game enthusiasts can access all their favorite mobile games for a great gaming tablet experience. Plus, this is probably the closest thing to a budget tablet in our list of the best Android tablets.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 tablet provides a lot of packaging for Android devices. It is equipped with a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, and with a microSD card, which can flexibly expand up to 1TB of storage space. The Galaxy Tab S6 also looks great, with a super AMOLED display (while the Galaxy Tab S7 uses an LCD panel). The battery life is about 15 hours, and the rear camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels. Moreover, if you have ever operated a Samsung Android device, the operation of this special Samsung tablet will feel very intuitive, similar to a Samsung Android smartphone. The update of Samsung’s DeX software even makes Tab S6 a replacement for laptops, allowing you to connect a mouse or even an external monitor. Just grab the keyboard and you will be ready.
