James Doohan Star Trek Montgomery: “Scotty Scott took his last space trip three years after his death in 2005. At Christmas, the story of a secret plan to bring some of the actor’s ashes to the International Space Station was finally revealed .
Douhan entered the final frontier
On Christmas Day, the British “Times” revealed that in 2008, entrepreneur Richard Garriott (Richard Garriott) carried out a 12-day mission as a private astronaut to smuggle some of Doohan’s ashes to the International Space Station. With the approval of the Doohan family, the secret operation plan was carried out with Doohan’s son Chris.
The plan allowed Garriott to hide a laminated card with a photo of Doohan and some of his ashes under the cladding of the Columbus modular floor at the station. According to The Times, Doohan’s ashes “have traversed nearly 1
“It’s completely secret… His family is very happy that the ashes are scattered there, but we are all disappointed, we haven’t come to talk about it publicly for a long time. Now enough time has passed that we can do it.” Gary Otter told The Times. “As far as I know, no one has seen it there, and no one moved it here. James Doohan rests in the stars.”
Garriott’s 2008 International Space Station (ISS) smuggling operation was actually the third attempt to bring James Doohan’s ashes into space. In 2007, some of his ashes flew to a suborbital rocket, and in August 2008, a failed attempt was made on a SpaceX rocket (the company successfully launched some of Doohan’s ashes into space in 2012). Chris Doohan (Chris Doohan) in order to satisfy his father’s request to rest in space, shortly before he was ready to enter space in October 2008, he contacted Garriott.
Since the last-minute request was recorded after all the trips Garriott planned to take, he was worried about the increase in ashes, so he decided to “very cautiously” decide to keep the plan confidential. “Richard said,’We have to keep this quiet voice for a while’, and we have been here for 12 years. Chris Doohan told The Times that what he did was impressive Moved-it means a lot to me, it means a lot to my family, it means a lot to my father.
