The 49ers entered the game on Saturday and were eliminated from the playoffs. They have been away from home for several weeks after the contact ban campaign in Santa Clara County. Their opponents have been competing for a spot in the playoffs, and this day started as the seventh seed of the NFC.
But San Francisco looked like a better team, controlling most of the game throughout the game and eventually winning 20-12, which made Arizona’s playoff hopes more complicated.
The Cardinals had two chances to participate in the game in the fourth quarter, but failed to profit from it. Despite running back to Kenyan Kenyan Drake (Kenryian Drake) for a 1-yard touchdown, 12:08 left to reduce San Francisco’s lead to 14-12, but Arizona’s two-point conversion failed. Quarterback Kyler Murray’s pass was too low, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in the penalty area at the end.
49ers guard Kyle Juszczyk scored the second touchdown pass of the game with 8:35, but shooter Robbie Gould added points from the right to keep the score within 20-12.
Murray maintained the subsequent driving condition for 30 yards on the 4th and 1st shots of No. 43 in San Francisco. But after two games, 49ers defender Ahkello Witherspoon took off Murray’s pass and gave it to Christian Kirk.
San Francisco should have been able to push the game away with a 37-yard field goal, but Gould missed his third kick today-one with his left foot. Prior to this, he got the right position with a 41-yard field goal in the third quarter.
But it’s okay. Murray was hit hard in his final fourth place failing Hopkins game, thus sealing the result of the game.
San Francisco rushed to a season-high 227 yards, and Jeff Wilson became a star. He rushed 22 times for 183 yards, averaging 8.3 yards per carry.
After starting his first game of the season, quarterback CJ Beathard passed 13 of 22 goals for 182 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions, even though he did lose. Nervous Kittle (George Kittle) participated in the game for the first time since the eighth week and led the team with four catches for 92 yards.
Murray was intercepted for 247 yards of 31 points within 50 meters. He added 8 carry over 75 yards.
Hopkins (Hopkins) set a new single-season franchise record, receiving 111 people, a total of 48 yards and 8 goals.
After losing the game, the Cardinals are now only 8-7 and need help from the playoffs. If the Bears beat the Jaguars and Packers in the next two games, they will get the NFC No. 7 seed.
Arizona’s victory will also win the Rams a playoff spot, but they can achieve this goal by defeating the Seahawks on Sunday. Arizona beat Los Angeles in Week 17.
The 49ers are now 6-9, and after Robert Saleh shines again, a new defensive coordinator in 2021 may be needed. Especially in the fight for San Francisco that did not enter the playoffs, he is likely to be strongly considered as at least one head coach in January.
