Washington, October 17, 2020 The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced today that Taher, based in Plymouth, Minnesota, has recalled approximately 22,096 pounds of meat products that benefited without federal inspections.
The production and packaging time of frozen meat products is from February 25, 2020 to September 22, 2020. The following products will be recalled: [View Labels (PDF Only)]
- A 16-pound box containing 4 bags of “Fresh Seasons Tator Tot Hot Vegetables”, batch number 056-282 and barcode 108101060239.
- A 16-pound box containing 4 bags of “Fresh Seasons Sloppy Joe” (article number 065-269 and barcode 1081
Products that need to be recalled may or may not carry the company number “EST.” “45091” in the USDA inspection mark. These items are shipped to Minnesota agencies and food service locations.
FSIS inspectors discovered the problem and they determined that the production of the product did not benefit from federal inspections.
No reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products have been confirmed. Anyone with a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS is concerned that certain products may be placed in the freezer of an agency or food service. Urges institutions and food service establishments that have purchased these products not to provide them. These products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS regularly conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify that the recalling company has notified its customers of the recall and takes steps to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers. The retail distribution list (if available) will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
