A stage performer at the Winter Garden Theater died on November 12 while working on a Broadway venue after falling from a scaffold above the stage at 8:45 am.
A representative of the Schubert organization, which owns and operates Broadway and 50th Street Theaters, confirmed the incident. After the tragic incident, both NYPD and OSHA investigated the situation at the scene.
According to the New York Post, the incident first occurred at the location and the worker is cleaning up Beetle juiceIt has been operating in the winter garden until the shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 54-year-old man was taken to the St. Luke Roosevelt Hospital Center but was unable to recover.
The theater, like all other Broadway theaters, will remain dark until at least May 30, 2021
