The Packers seem to be a sure thing this weekend. At least one bettor thinks so.
According to ESPN.com’s David Purdum, someone in Nevada bet on the Packers with a $99,000 bet to beat the William Hill sports book jaguar. If the Packers win, the odds are -1100, and the bet only needs to pay $9,000.
This may be the simplest $9,000 bettor has ever made. Perhaps this is a lesson learned, as a wise man said repeatedly: “This is why they play games.”
The weather on Sunday may be a factor. Its maximum temperature was 44 degrees, in line with the forecast, sustained wind speeds of 25 miles per hour, and gusts lasting until the mid-1930s. Packers have the opportunity to choose Sunday as one of the days they don’t have.
As the possibilities indicate, this is clearly unlikely. However, if the game ends within eighth, then the $9,000 bet will undoubtedly not be worth any anxiety experienced by bettors. And, if the Jaguar wins in some way, the money that gamblers could do a lot of things will come.
But in the United States, the right to life, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness includes the ability to make wrong decisions. Sunday comes, let’s see if this is one of them. There is already a feeling of victory or defeat.
