Samsung announced on Tuesday that it will extend the return period for the latest foldable phones to 100 days. This means that purchasers of Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G and Z Flip 5G can purchase any of these devices, use them for more than three months, and then return them for a full refund. Samsung calls this new plan “Buy and Try”, and this is the first time the company has initiated such a generous mobile phone return program. The previous return window was 15 days.
A Samsung spokesperson said in a statement: “This new initiative will help consumers try whether foldable devices are suitable for them. This is part of Samsung’s commitment to making foldable devices accessible to everyone.” Samsung said, The program will be launched today to purchase any kind of equipment purchased through its website and will continue until April 1
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G is technically the fourth iteration of the company’s foldable product line. It was released last fall and is a greatly improved version of the original (and severely flawed) Galaxy Fold. Its price is $1,999.99, although Samsung is currently selling the device on its website at a qualified discount of $1,499.99.
Galaxy Z Flip 5G is Samsung’s third product on a foldable phone. After discounting, it now retails for $1,199.99, although Samsung says that as long as you are eligible for trade-in, you can get a bargain price of $649.99. The two store pages of the device on the Samsung website both carry notifications of the new 100-day return offer.
