Samsung has reportedly begun to send out invitations to a May 21 event in Mumbai, India. The South Korean company is expected to bring its Galaxy A6 series to the Indian market and introduce some Galaxy J Series smartphones with infinity display panels when reading the invitation "Say Hello To Infinity & More". While the Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6 Plus are already official, the Galaxy J6 mid-range smartphone with a large display is rumored to be announced soon. All Android smartphones due to hit the market this month will be assembled in India and positioned below the price of the Samsung A8 offering launched on the South Asian market earlier this year
The Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6 Plus is expected to be priced between Rs. 20,000 ($ 295) and Rs. 25,000 ($ 368), while the Galaxy J Series devices are priced from Rs in a lower price range. 15,000 ($ 221). As a reminder, the Galaxy A8 Plus debuted in India at a cost of Rs. 32,990 ($ 486) and can often be found in retail at a slightly lower price. Samsung unveiled earlier this month the Galaxy A6 product line with a metal case and midrange internals. The lower Galaxy A6 features a 5.6-inch HD + Super AMOLED display while powered by an Exynos 7870 processor paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The handset contains a 3,000mAh battery and comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. A 16 megapixel camera is located on the front and back of the phone. The Plus variant, on the other hand, includes a larger 6-inch FHD + AMOLED display, also with an 18.5: 9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Snapdragon 450 processor and has a 3500 mAh battery, while most other specifications have of the Galaxy A6. A rear-mounted dual-camera setup is also part of the package.
As for the Galaxy J series, Samsung Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6 mid-range smartphones are said to have announced, of which the latter is said to be equipped with an infinity display. Due to the leaks, the specifications are more or less similar to the Galaxy A6, while the Galaxy J4 uses a conventional 16: 9 display. A handful of press renderings of the Galaxy J6 surfaced today, while earlier reports claimed that the Android phone will debut in India on May 25 at the starting price of Rs. 13,990 ($ 208).
