Samsung first introduced One UI 3.1 in its Galaxy S21 series, but recently promised to introduce it to other Z series devices, including Z Fold2. Although the function settings are basically similar on each device, the foldable phone is still undergoing some adjustments to adapt to its unique shape.
The first few improvements involve multitasking-welcome to add to take full advantage of the tablet-sized internal display. Now, you can directly return to up to three previously opened active windows through the latest application menu on the main display, and up to two on the cover display. There is also a new way to launch multiple active windows-just long press, drag and drop notifications.
Accessibility has also been improved in the Flex mode of the camera application. The position of the camera controls is now adjustable. The preview window also has “Delete” and “Share” buttons, making it easier to manage photos and videos.
In addition, the notifications in the “Quick Panel” are categorized, and the weather widgets on the cover and the home screen have been synchronized (a bit strange because they have not yet appeared). The UI also has some visual adjustments, including a redesigned vertical volume slider, updated light and dark themes, and a slightly updated video call interface.
The update rollout is already in progress. If you haven’t received it yet, please make sure to check it manually Settings>About device>Software update. Samsung did not mention OG Fold, so these functions may not be missed.
