NFL teams are allowed to start talking with free agents on March 15, and some people say who the Browns might call once the legal tampering window opens.
Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports that the Pirates’ centre-back Lavonte David has become the team’s radar to upgrade their defense. In the 2020 season, David provided Bucs with 117 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one interception, 3 forced errors and 2 recovery errors.
David has spent his entire nine-year career in Tampa, and if he enters the open market, he may attract many suitors. Bucs’ head coach Bruce Arians and general manager Jason Licht expressed their desire to prevent this from happening, but Bucs has a few key free agents, so this may not be possible.
BJ Goodson and Malcolm Smith performed the best among Brown’s linebackers last season. Both sides will be free agents, even if David did not go to Cleveland, this may also mean that the guards have different views.
