The county and city of Santa Barbara reminded community members and visitors that due to the increased spread of COVID-19, local health officials ordered 2020-12.5 to ban gatherings of any size. Gathering refers to any event or gathering that gathers people in a room or a single indoor or outdoor space at the same time; limited exceptions apply. Due to the continuing high rate of positive cases, Santa Barbara County is still on the state’s “county watch list.”
The Sunday cruiser tour is an annual tradition in Santa Barbara during the Carnival, but it will not happen this year unless the spread of COVID-19 endangers the community. County and city officials urged those who may have planned to join the trip to cancel their plans to maintain the overall safety of the community. If community members know of others who plan to join, we urge you to share this information with them.
