Peyton Manning, Charles Woodson, 2021 Hall of Fame Candidate



Peyton Manning and Charles Woodson are among the 14 first-year qualified candidates for the Professional Football Hall of Fame.

Joined the two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback and star cornerback/safety guard are Calvin Johnson, Wes Welk and Roddy White; run back to Steven Jackson; Heath Miller (Heath Miller) offensive wingers D’Brickashaw Ferguson and Logan Mankins; defensive wingers Jared Allen, Justin Tuck and Kevin Williams; guard Jerod Mayo and defensive guard Charles Tillman (Charles Tillman) .

There are 130 nominees for 5 modern attractions in total. The nomination list consists of 65 offensive players, 49 defensive players and 1

6 special team players. The roster will be reduced to 25 semi-finalists in November and 15 finalists in January. When the selection committee meets on the Saturday before the Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida, up to five modern players will be selected.

Eighteen finalists will attend a 48-person panel discussion: 15 modern finalists, and the recently nominated Drew Pearson (senior). Bill Nunn (writer); and Tom Flores (coach).

A worship service will be held in the Auditorium in Canton, Ohio next August, when members of the 2020 and special centennial classes will also enter the football mecca. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 course cannot be held and will be held next summer.

The players in that class are Steve Atwater, Isaac Bruce, Harold Carmichael, Campbell Covert, Bobby Dillon, Cliff Harris, Winston Hill , Steve Hutchinson, Edlin James, Alex Callas, Troy Boramaru, Donnie Shell, Duke Slater, Mike Pipid and Ed Springkel; Coaches Bill Cowher and Jimmy Johnson; and contributors Steve Sabol, Paul Tagliabue and George Young.

Last year’s finalists were recipients Torry Holt and Reggie Wayne; offensive wingers Tony Boselli and Alan Faneca; defensive wingers Richard Seymour and Kobe Young; guards Sam Mills and Zach Thomas; defensive support also John Lynch and Leroy Butler.
