Blizzards Overwatch is celebrating its biennial anniversary this month, and as the shooter is still strong, the studio is celebrating with a string of new tidbits. These include a brand new card and a free weekend for those who have not tried it yet.
The Deathmatch Card "Petra" will be presented on May 22nd in the two-year Anniversary Celebration. You can also play a Deathmatch in Competitive mode, just like the Escort and Control cards originally released with the game.
The event will feature "more than 50 new items," says a press release featuring 8 Legendary Skins and New Dances for Doomfist, Moira and Brigitte. Favored seasonal articles from the first anniversary event will also return, and the past seasonal brawls will be rotated daily. If you want to lose in a round of Mei's Snowball Offensive, hit us.
Those who log into Overwatch during the event ̵
If you have not played Overwatch yet, the game will run on May 25-28 on the free PC. Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Xbox and PlayStation do not require Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus. You have access to all heroes and cards, as well as most modes. Competitive play will not become available until you have bought the game. But your progress in your ranks will be maintained if you decide to buy the whole game.
For those who decide to continue playing Overwatch after the weekend off, Blizzard released a "Legendary Edition" of the game on May 22. It includes 15 additional skins, including Legendaries and the Origins skins that were released in 2016 with the game.
Overwatch is now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. A special pink Mercy skin can currently be purchased, with all sales benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. If you logged in until May 21, you will receive a free BCRF icon, and if you see charity streams, you will receive additional sprays and symbols in the game.
