The police said that a 25-year-old man and his girlfriend were walking near Third Street and Lizi Street when gunfire sounded at around 25:00 on Monday.
According to authorities, four men jumped from a van and fired bullets near the Institute of Science and History in the center of the old city. At least 27 shells were fired.
The man was shot in the chest and died at the scene.

Police said a man was shot and killed at a company in the 2500 block of Ridge Avenue in Brewerytown around 9 p.m. He is in stable condition at a local hospital.
Just after 11pm on Monday, a man was killed in a shooting in West Philadelphia.
Police said the shooting occurred in the 1500 block of North 62nd Street.
The victim was a man who appeared to be in his 20s. He was shot multiple times while sitting in the driver’s seat of a moving pickup truck. He was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead.
Three houses were hit by stray bullets. No one in the house was injured.
Small said: “We are very lucky in this regard.”
The police said that in this incident, at least two separate guns fired 38 shots.
Police said the victim’s car was shot more than 20 times.
The police found many surveillance cameras in the block, hoping to lead them to the suspect.
At midnight on Tuesday, the police were asked to shoot in North Philadelphia.
According to the police, the suspect unloaded at least five shots on the Ninth Avenue and Lucerne Avenue.
The bullet entered the car driver’s door and hit a man sitting in the passenger seat, believed to be in his 30s.
He was shot twice in the chest and was taken to the hospital where he died.
