You are not alone when you cannot connect to the eShop to download new games during the holidays. Nintendo announced that it “recognized that players encountered an error when visiting the Nintendo eShop, and is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.” Nintendo posted a news on Twitter and said: “Thank you for your understanding. Please check our network status page. To get the latest update.”
At the time of writing this article, when you enter Nintendo’s “Network Maintenance Information” page, it will notify players that they may receive a message when trying to access the eShop, saying “Unable to connect to the network service. Please try again later. This may be caused. Any inconvenience.”
Considering that today is Christmas, the cause of these network problems is likely to be the many new Nintendo Switch consoles that are open today, or those trying to buy new games with gift cards.
As mentioned earlier, we will update this article as soon as the problem is resolved. Before that, be sure to check our list of the top 25 Switch games to let you know the games you can play this holiday and beyond.
