Sanrio-style villagers and items will appear in “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” in the March update of the game. After the update, you can scan the Animal Crossing Sanrio Amiibo card to invite new villagers and order items themed with Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll and other Sanrio characters.
Just like in Animal Crossing: New Leaves, there are a total of six villagers inspired by Sanrio, one card in each Sanrio Amiibo bag. The complete list of villagers and the Sanrio characters they are themed is as follows:
- Hello Kitty-Lira (Gorilla)
- Chonococcus-Mati (cubic)
- Kiki & Lara-Étoile (Sheep)
- Cinnamoroll-chai (elephant)
- My Melody-Chelsea (Deer)
- Kerokerokeroppi-Toby (rabbit)
You can also order a variety of furniture and clothing based on the Sanrio character, such as Cinnamoroll sofa and Hello Kitty carpet. These items and villagers will be introduced into the game in the 1
The Sanrio Amiibo card itself was first issued in Japan and Europe in 2016, concurrently with the major update of Animal Crossing: New Leaf’s Welcome Amiibo, but it will be first launched in the United States on March 26. Only sold in Target stores, each pack contains all six Sanrio Amiibo cards.
Meanwhile, Nintendo recently launched the Mario update for New Horizons, which introduces a series of Super Mario furniture and clothing, such as warp pipes, to the game. From March 1st, all Mario items can be ordered from Nook Shopping. This update also adds some new seasonal items, which will go on sale at various points throughout March.
