Brad Kern has confirmed his role as showrunner on CBS's "NCIS: New Orleans" Variety . Kern will no longer act as Executive Producer or monitor the procedural drama. He will stay in the series as a consultant.
A representative of the CBS television studios producing the series declined to comment.
Variety first reported in December that Kern was examined twice in 2016 by CBS Human Resources for his work behavior. The complaints against Kern included allegations of verbal harassment of women and racist comments.
An internal CBS investigation revealed that Kern had made "insensitive" and "offensive" comments. However, CBS concluded that there are no signs of retaliation, harassment, discrimination or gender bias. The company informed employees that "reasonable" action had been taken and that Kern had completed sensitivity training.
In a statement to Variety a CBS spokesman said last year, "We were aware of these allegations when they took place in 201
Salon reported on Kern's exit for the first time" NCIS: New Orleans. "
