Some new Nintendo Switch Starlight game stations have been shipped to medical institutions and hospitals across the United States. These portable game stations are the result of cooperation between the Starlight organization and Nintendo of the United States. Starlight is a children’s charity organization. Its mission is to “bring happiness to seriously ill children.” [Thanks, Go Nintendo!]
The Starlight game station is designed to follow the infection safety protocol, and the latest Starlight Nintendo Switch series will be equipped with more than 25 pre-installed games from various types. According to their website, Starlight will also “explore options for making gaming consoles a handheld device.”
Generally speaking, Starlight’s game stations are nothing new. They are manufactured in cooperation with Nintendo of the United States and have a history of 28 years. To date, Starlight and Nintendo have allocated a total of 7,200 gaming stations in 800 locations.
Donating to Starlight helps shorten the play time of sick children, but it also allows them to endure “comfortable and colorful” hospital clothes. Another charity called Extra Life, whose goal is similar to Starlight, also distributes games to children’s hospitals. People who wish to donate can do so in many ways through “extra life”. For example, they can sign up to raise funds through streaming games. They can also watch the video stream, promote other video streams, increase visibility or participate through direct donations.
