A statement from Netanyahu’s office said: “The leaders of the two countries congratulate each other on the restoration of relations between the two countries, the signing of the joint statement with the United States and the agreement between the two countries.”
It added: “In addition, the process and mechanism for implementing the agreement are determined.”
This conversation took place after the Trump administration facilitated a peace agreement between the two countries. Israel and Morocco have long had informal links.

King Mohammed’s office said in a statement on Friday that he “reviewed the strong and special connection between the Moroccan Jewish community and the Moroccan monarchy” and “welcomed the resurrection of the cooperation mechanism between the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Israel.”
Morocco is the fourth largest Arab country to achieve peace with Israel this year after the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan.
The Trump administration recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over the disputed Western Sahara as part of the deal.
Muslim countries have long refused to establish contact with Israel, as long as they have not reached an agreement with the Palestinians to establish their own country. However, the shift of the regional alliance with Israel and the Gulf countries against Iran has changed the traditional calculations in the Middle East.
In a statement, King Mohammed’s office said, “He reaffirmed the consistent, firm and unchanging position of the Kingdom of Morocco on the Palestinian issue, and the Kingdom’s pioneering role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.”
