A Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official clarified rumors about Karan Johar’s 2019 party video as part of their investigation into alleged Bollywood drug ties. The official said that the video is not under the scanner.
NCB Deputy Director General Mutha Ashok Jain told reporters that this video has nothing to do with the case. The video in question shows Karan’s family gathering moments with some Bollywood stars, including Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, etc. After several social media users shared the clip, the clip began to spread the virus, and they thought the stars seemed intoxicated with drugs.
Recently, as the drug problem in Bollywood has become a topic of national debate, the former Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa filed a complaint with NCB, asking the agency to investigate what he called a “drug party.”
Sirsa said in a letter with NCB President Rakesh Asthana that he met with him and asked him to investigate the video. “I met Sh. Rakesh Asthana, head of @narcoticsbureauat BSF based in Delhi, filed a complaint about the complaint against the film producer @karanjohar and others and the lawsuit against his Mumbai residence for organizing a drug gathering. Video of the gathering Must be investigated!” He wrote.
Karan had previously clarified that his party did not use drugs. “Successful industry members spent a relaxing night after a hard week of work and had a great time. I filmed this film wholeheartedly…If anything happens, I will release it, I’m not stupid,” he said in an interview with Rajeev Masand.

“5 minutes before this video, my mother was sitting with us. It was like a family, a happy social gathering, friends sitting there and having a good time, we were there listening to music and eating some delicious food , And full of energy in the conversation. There is nothing more,” he said.
On Saturday, NCB also arrested Kshitij Ravi Prasad, who reportedly worked for Dharma Productions. Karan said in a statement on Friday that Prasad joined Dharmatic Entertainment, a sister company of Johar’s Dharma Productions, in November 2019, but the contract did not materialize.
