(WXYZ) — The state reported on Wednesday that Michigan had 167,545 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 7,257 deaths.
Since the previous day, there have been 3,271 cases and 18 deaths. This is the second day the state reported an increase in single-day cases.
The current record is 3,338 cases announced on October 24.
State officials expressed concern about the current increase in numbers. Governor Gretchen Whitmer said on Wednesday that the state needs to make every effort to keep numbers low.
