Des Moines, Iowa (KCCI)-MercyOne Des Moines said its hospital has treated three people who have contracted the coronavirus twice.
Dr. Ravi Vemuri said that one of the patients became seriously ill because they thought it was a reinfection. The other two are “sickness”.
Vimali said that those who are diagnosed with the coronavirus can still test positive within 90 days after the initial infection because they continue to shed cells.

Vemuri said: “People think that the immunity to the natural infection of the coronavirus may be weak and unsustainable, and may weaken over time.”
He said that he believes that the vaccine can still be used even if it can be infected again.
Vimali said that Iowans can wear masks, wash their hands and stay away from society to protect themselves from reinfection.
