After the draw for super millionaires on Friday night, the jackpots for super millionaires and Powerball soared to more than $1 billion on Saturday, but there was no grand prize winner.
The Powerball pot is 470 million U.S. dollars, and the super millionaire climbed to as high as 600 million U.S. dollars.
May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery Company, said in a statement on Friday that it has been two years since both games offered such generous bonuses.
Gordon Medenica, Chief Director of Mega Millions, said in a press release: “We want our players to have fun, especially when there are two big jackpots starting,”
He said: “Although we always encourage responsible competition, in these difficult times, buying masks and maintaining social distance are more important.”
This is the fourth time in the history of super millionaires that they have reached $600 million. After the raffle on Friday night, no votes matched all six numbers (3, 6, 16, 18, and 58, plus the golden Mega Ball 11), and the number increased.
Five tickets matched with five white ball numbers and won the second prize. They are sold in New York, California, New Jersey, Georgia and Massachusetts.
The next millionaire raffle is Tuesday. If there is a jackpot winner, the cash option will be $442.4 million.
Since winning $120 million in a lottery in Wisconsin in September 2020, there has been no winner.
The next drawing for Powerball is Saturday night. The $470 million pot is the tenth largest pot in history. Grand prize winners can receive 362.7 million US dollars in prize money through cash options.
The last time Powerball won a lottery ticket was also in September 2020, when a lottery ticket worth more than $94 million was sold in New York.
The probability of winning is more than one in 300 million, but this does not prevent many people’s dreams from coming true.
