Mayo Clinic medical system temporarily postpones election cases as COVID-19 cases increase

EAU Clare, Wisconsin (WEAU)-The Mayo Clinic Health System announced on Friday that they will temporarily postpone elective care in northwest Wisconsin as COVID-19 cases rise.

The extension will begin on October 31 (Saturday) so that the hospital can take care of the needs of the community, including a large number of COVID-19 patients who need to be hospitalized.

Hospital officials said that as of Friday, October 30, there were 68 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in the northwestern part of the Mayo Clinic Medical System in Wisconsin. This number includes 52 wines in Eau Claire.
