Logitech announces the launch of a cheaper alternative to the Magic Keyboard for the new iPad Pro

Apple has just announced the M1 update for the iPad Pro, and Logitech has also followed up with new keyboard and trackpad accessories for 11-inch and 12.9-inch models. Combo Touch comes with a Microsoft Surface style stand and a detachable backlit keyboard with trackpad. It connects via the smart connector of the iPad Pro.

Logitech has released similar Combo Touch keyboards for 10.2-inch and 10.5-inch iPads, and related Folio Touch for 11-inch iPad Pro and 10.9-inch iPad Air. Folio Touch’s keyboard is not removable, and its trackpad is a bit smaller than the new Combo Touch, but in other respects it is similar.

Logitech provides a keyboard/trackpad option for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro for the first time, and it’s much cheaper than Apple’s own Magic Keyboard. The 11-inch model is priced at $199.99, the 12.9-inch model is priced at $229.99, and Apple charges $299 and $349 respectively, which means you can save about $100 or more on the label price.

You might actually like Logitech’s design. It is not as sleek as the magic keyboard, but the shell can provide better protection for the iPad, the detachability and stand can provide a greater degree of versatility, and the keyboard has useful functions. The 11-inch model can be ordered now, while the 12.9-inch version is listed as “coming soon.”
