Karen O collaborated with Willie Nelson to release a new album for David Bowie and the queen’s classic “Under Pressure”. It is played by Nick Zinner, a member of Karen’s Yeah Yeah Yeahs band, and is produced on TV by radio station Dave Sitek. The cover also includes contributions by Imaad Wasif, Johnny Hanson, Micah Nelson and Priscilla Ahn. Listen below.
Karen O said in a statement that she asked Nelson through a mutual friend if she would like to perform a duet. When he agreed, she was shocked. She wrote: “At this point, my mind is melting, but I have to concentrate on the song that stands out from this Ethereum legend and talk to people in difficult times, not easy tasks.”
She continued: “Our cover should have been more intimate, but it is also full of love.” “Every time I listen to Willie’s song, I never tear it up. This is one of the purest sounds. One, it certainly reflects a pure heart. I will sing together. I don’t know if this will happen, but you must dare to dream. I hope this song can bring as much sound as possible to the audience, just Like it brought me in the dark times.”
