Leaker claims iPhone 12 will be equipped with a new Lightning to USB-C braided cable

Although this year the USB charger may not be included in the iPhone 12 box, but the smartphone may continue to come with Lightning cable. There are new rumors that the iPhone 12 will be equipped with a Lightning to USB-C braided cable, which marks a significant upgrade of the current iPhone charging cable.

Reliable leaker @L0vetodream shared today on Twitter that Apple is developing a new Lightning cable. He also retweeted the alleged image of the new cable, which was woven from a USB-C connector instead of the traditional USB-A.

If the rumors are true, this confirms that Apple will keep the Lightning connector on the next generation iPhone instead of USB-C, which is not surprising. This may also indicate that all iPhone 1

2 models will come with a Lightning to USB-C cable, while the current regular iPhone 11 models come with a Lightning to USB-A cable.

Over the years, braided cables can also solve one of the main complaints of iPhone users, which is related to the durability of lightning cables. In some cases, Apple’s own Lightning cable can easily break after a few months, costing users $19 to replace the cable.

The new enhanced Lightning cable can also divert attention to Apple, not including the USB charger in the box. Apple recently sent a survey to iPhone users asking what they did after replacing the USB charger of the previous iPhone with a new model. According to recent rumors, Apple will not ship an iPhone with a USB charger and EarPods in the box for the first time.
